As Curation manager, my duties include supervision of staff and curation of the collections. I am responsible for the care and curation of excavated material. I oversee the sorting of excavated material at excavation sites and in the laboratory, Cape Town. Responsibilities include procedures relating to conservation, packaging and storage of collections. I am responsible for the record-keeping and database of the collections and writing up of the excavation reports (Klipdrif Shelter and Blombos cave excavations reports) as well as giving presentations as required. My tasks extend to processing permit applications (for excavations) and processing loan applications for researchers.

I have been involved in the organizing of the exhibition: “The Ochre-Processing Toolkit, Blombos Cave” at Iziko Museums of Cape Town.

I have been involved in a number of excavations at various sites in southern Africa and have experience in rock art recording. My main research interest in archaeology is in the field of rock art. My further interest is in the area of early 20th century rock art copyists.
